Ecommerce Website Cost in Pakistan (2026): A PKR Breakdown

What an online store really costs in Pakistan, in rupees: platform, domain, courier, cash-on-delivery handling and refused orders, with three realistic budgets and a worked example.

An e-commerce website in Pakistan costs PKR 0 to launch on a free plan, roughly PKR 35,000–60,000 in the first year for a typical small business with its own domain, and PKR 300,000 or more for a custom agency build. On Yuplify the platform line is simple: Starter is free, Pro is PKR 2,500 (US$8) a month and Business is PKR 14,999 a month. The costs that surprise people are not the platform at all. They are courier charges, cash-on-delivery handling and parcels that come back refused.

This guide breaks the bill into rupees, line by line, for a seller in Pakistan. It is different from our general guide to what an e-commerce website costs, which is written in dollars for any market. Here the assumptions are local: most customers pay cash on delivery, delivery is priced by courier and city, and a share of orders will be refused at the door. Disclosure: Yuplify publishes this page, so we use our own prices as the example. Every figure that is not a Yuplify price is an indicative range. Confirm it with the provider before you spend.

The Short Answer: Three Realistic Budgets

Most sellers fit one of three budgets. The table shows the upfront and first-year cost before ads and before the per-order costs covered further down.

BudgetPlatformDomainTypical first-year total
Testing an ideaYuplify Starter, PKR 0Free yourstore.yuplify.com address, PKR 0PKR 0 upfront, plus your own phone photos
Small business with its own brandYuplify Pro, PKR 2,500 a month (about PKR 30,000 a year)A .com or .pk, a few thousand rupees a yearRoughly PKR 35,000–60,000 including packaging and a modest photography budget
Custom agency buildAgency design and developmentDomain plus hostingPKR 300,000 and up, plus ongoing maintenance

The Pro price comes from the Yuplify pricing page. The agency figure and the first-year range are indicative, and they match the ranges in our other cost guides so the numbers do not contradict each other from post to post.

Line-by-Line: What You Pay For in Pakistan

Here is every cost a Pakistani online store can carry, who charges it, and whether it is monthly, yearly or per order.

CostHow it is chargedIndicative amountCan you skip it at the start?
Platform planMonthlyPKR 0 (Yuplify Starter) or PKR 2,500 (Pro)No, but the free plan is enough to test
Domain nameYearly.com roughly PKR 3,500–5,000; .pk varies by reseller, often a few thousandYes, until you run ads or print the address
Product photographyOne-offYour phone is enough to beginNo, but it can be free
Courier deliveryPer orderSet by your courier, by weight and cityNo
COD handlingPer COD orderSet by your courier; ask for the rate in writingNo, if you sell on COD
Refused orders (RTO)Per refused parcelYou pay delivery out and back, so budget for itNo
PackagingPer orderFlyers, boxes, tape, a thank-you cardNo
Online payment feesPer card or wallet paymentSet by your payment providerYes, COD needs none
AdsMonthly, optionalWhatever you can afford to lose while learningYes

The table is deliberately honest about what it does not say. Courier and gateway rates differ by company, parcel weight and your volume, and they change. We do not print a courier rate here because a stale number is worse than none: ask TCS, Leopards or any other courier for their current business rate card.

Cost 1: The Platform

This is the line people compare first, and the one that matters least. A website builder that is priced in rupees removes currency swings and card-payment hurdles from the equation.

Yuplify's Starter plan is free: one store, up to 30 products and 5 categories, a free yuplify.com address, unlimited orders, variants and reviews, and 2 themes. Pro is PKR 2,500 a month (US$8) and adds unlimited products, your own domain, all 7 themes, a drag-and-drop home layout, SEO tools, online card payments and courier booking. Business is PKR 14,999 a month for established brands that want onboarding set up with our team. Cash on delivery is built into checkout on every plan, and Yuplify does not add a transaction fee of its own on your sales.

Builders priced in US dollars carry an extra risk for a rupee business: the bill moves when the exchange rate does. We do not quote their prices here because we could not verify them on the day we wrote this. Check the live pricing page of any builder you consider, and read the cheapest builders compared on total monthly cost to see how the platform fee, add-ons and domain add up.

Cost 2: Your Domain

A domain is the one asset you truly own. A .com usually costs roughly PKR 3,500–5,000 a year. A .pk domain is sold through PKNIC-accredited resellers and the final price depends on the reseller, so compare two or three before you pay. You do not need a domain on day one. A free yourstore.yuplify.com address lets you launch and test, and you can connect your own domain on Pro when you start spending on ads.

Choose a short name that is easy to say on a phone call, with no hyphens. Customers who find you on Instagram or WhatsApp often type your name into Google before they order.

Cost 3: Delivery, COD Handling and Packaging

This is where Pakistani stores win or lose money, and it is the part generic cost guides leave out. Three charges sit behind every parcel:

  • The delivery charge, set by the courier by weight and destination.
  • COD handling, because couriers charge to collect cash and send it to your bank account on a schedule.
  • Packaging, which is small per order and real per month.
  • Yuplify Pro can book TCS and Leopards shipments from the order page, so you are not copying addresses into a courier portal by hand. Ask each courier about city coverage, COD remittance days and the return charge before you sign.

The mistake to avoid is a flat delivery rate that is lower than what the courier actually bills you. Weigh one packed parcel, get a quote for a big city and a small town, and set your delivery charge from that.

Cost 4: Refused Orders, the Hidden Line

With cash on delivery, some parcels are refused at the door. You pay the courier to deliver it and again to bring it back, and you earn nothing. This is the cost that turns a profitable-looking store into a loss, and it grows with volume.

The illustration below uses made-up numbers to show the mechanism. They are assumptions for the example, not Yuplify data and not a forecast.

    AssumptionValue
    Selling pricePKR 3,000
What the product costs youPKR 1,800
Delivery you pay per parcel, each wayPKR 250
    Packaging per parcelPKR 50
    Orders sent in a month100
    Share refused at the door15%

On those assumptions, 85 delivered orders earn PKR 1,200 each before delivery and packaging, which is PKR 102,000. Delivery and packaging on all 100 parcels cost PKR 30,000, and the return trip on 15 refused parcels costs a further PKR 3,750. Your profit is about PKR 68,250, not the PKR 120,000 a quick sum suggests. Raise refusals to 30% and the same store drops to roughly PKR 46,500. Confirming orders by call or WhatsApp before you dispatch is the cheapest way to move that number. Our COD page explains how it works on Yuplify.

Cost 5: Payment Fees on Cards and Wallets

COD needs no payment provider, which is why most new sellers start there. Once you add online payments, each payment carries a fee set by the provider, plus a settlement delay. Pro includes online card payments. Easypaisa is marked as rolling out on Yuplify and JazzCash is not supported, so we do not promise either here. Rates and eligibility differ by provider and by business type, so get the current rate in writing. Our payment gateway comparison covers the options in more detail.

First-Year Cost, Month by Month on Pro

For a small business that moves to Pro and buys a domain, this is the shape of year one before ads and per-order costs.

    ItemCalculationAmount
    Yuplify ProPKR 2,500 x 12 monthsPKR 30,000
DomainAllowance for a .com or .pkabout PKR 4,000
Packaging stock and basic photo propsYour own estimatethe rest of the PKR 35,000–60,000 range
Courier, COD and refused-order costsPer orderPassed on in your delivery charge or absorbed in margin

If you start on Starter and upgrade only when you want your own domain, the platform part of year one falls below PKR 30,000, because you pay for fewer months.

What You Can Skip, and What You Cannot

Skip a premium theme, apps you cannot name a reason for, a designer logo and paid ads in month one. Do not skip a real test order, decent product photos, clear delivery and return policies, and a WhatsApp number that someone answers. Pakistani buyers check those before they order cash on delivery from a store they do not know.

If you are ready to build, how to make an e-commerce website in Pakistan walks through every step, and how to get your first 100 sales covers what to do once the store is live.

    When Is Paying Worth It?

Upgrade when a limit is costing you money, not when a feature sounds good. The triggers are simple: you want your own domain because you are handing the address to customers, you have passed 30 products, or you want card payments and courier booking to save you time every day. Until one of those is true, staying on the free plan is correct sequencing, not stinginess. If you are still comparing options, the free e-commerce website builder page lists exactly what the free plan includes.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest way to start an online store in Pakistan? A free plan with a free subdomain and cash on delivery. You pay only courier and packaging per order. Yuplify's Starter plan is built for this.

Do I need a domain to start? No. Launch on a free address first and add your own domain when you start advertising.

Is there a monthly fee on top of the plan? On Yuplify, no transaction fee is added to your sales. You still pay your courier, your payment provider where you use one, and your domain.

Kya free plan se kaam chal jata hai? (Does the free plan work?) Haan. Starter mein 30 products, 5 categories aur cash on delivery shamil hain, to pehla store test karne ke liye kaafi hai.

Website banane mein sab se bara kharcha kya hota hai? (What is the biggest cost?) Platform nahi, balkay courier, COD handling aur wapas aane wale parcels. Order confirm karne ke baad hi dispatch karein.

Kya Yuplify Pakistan ke liye hai? (Is Yuplify built for Pakistan?) Yes. It was founded in Karachi in 2023, prices are in PKR, and cash on delivery is on every plan.

    Final Thoughts

The website is the cheap part. Plan for the platform, a domain, and above all your per-order delivery and refusal costs, and the rest of the budget falls into place. If you want to start at zero and upgrade only when a limit bites, start free on Yuplify or look at the full Pakistan builder page.
