How to choose between the two couriers Yuplify supports: coverage, COD settlement, refused parcels and the cost per delivered order, with a worked example in rupees and who should use neither.
If you ship cash on delivery orders in Pakistan, the short answer is that neither TCS nor Leopards is better for every store. TCS is known for next-day delivery and a dense network in the major cities, while Leopards reaches over a thousand cities and towns, so the courier that suits you is the one that covers your customers' cities at a total cost per delivered order you can live with.
This guide compares the two couriers Yuplify supports, TCS and Leopards Courier, from the point of view of an online store owner who takes cash on delivery. Yuplify publishes this page, so read it with that in mind. We build the courier integrations and we do not sell or resell shipping. We also do not publish either courier's tariff. Rates are negotiated per account and change often, so any rate printed here would be out of date or wrong for you. Where this page uses numbers in rupees, they are labelled as assumptions.
The Short Comparison
This table uses only what we can stand behind: how each courier works inside Yuplify, and how each is described on its integration page. Anything about price is left for you to get in writing.
| Point | TCS | Leopards Courier |
|---|---|---|
| Known for | Next-day delivery across the country and a dense network in the major cities | Same-day and next-day delivery to over 1,000 cities and towns |
| Cash on delivery | Collected by TCS and paid into your bank on the schedule you agree with them | Collected by Leopards and paid into your bank on the schedule you agree with them |
| Booking from Yuplify | Book, track and cancel from the order page, with the COD amount sent along | Book, track and cancel from the order page, with the COD amount sent along |
| What you need first | A TCS account approved for API access, a cost centre code and COD remittance set up | A Leopards merchant account with API credentials, and a pickup address registered with your Leopards branch |
| Plan on Yuplify | Pro | Pro |
| Delivery rate and COD charge | Set by your own TCS account | Set by your own Leopards account |
| Fee from Yuplify per booking | None | None |
The two integrations behave almost the same inside the dashboard. The real differences are outside Yuplify: coverage, price, settlement speed and how each courier treats a refused parcel.
How Each Courier Works With Yuplify
On the Pro plan you connect a courier once from the Couriers page of your dashboard, test it in test mode, then switch to live. After that, opening an order and choosing Book with TCS or Book with Leopards sends the customer's address, the parcel weight and the COD amount to the courier, and saves the tracking number and label against the order. You can check the status from the same page, or cancel the booking before pickup if the customer changes their mind.
Yuplify never handles the parcel or the cash. Your courier collects the money and pays you. You can set up both couriers, but only one is active for bookings at a time, and you can switch from the Couriers page whenever you like. That makes it cheap to try one and move to the other.
The Starter plan does not include courier booking. On Starter you still take cash on delivery orders and hand the parcels to any courier yourself, then enter tracking by hand. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
Coverage: Check Your Customers' Cities, Not the Brochure
Coverage is the first filter. A courier with a wide network still may not deliver quickly to the town where your customer lives, and a courier with a dense city network may be the better choice if most of your orders go to Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
1. Export or list the last 50 to 100 delivery cities from your orders, or, if you are just starting, list where you expect customers to be.
2. Count how many fall in the major cities and how many in smaller towns.
3. Ask each courier, in writing, whether they deliver COD to each of the smaller towns and how many days it normally takes.
If most of your orders go to big cities, both couriers will probably cover you and price will decide. If a large share goes to smaller towns, coverage and the courier's own answer on those towns matter more than a small difference in the delivery rate.
Cost: What to Ask, and a Worked Example
A courier's headline delivery rate is only part of what it costs you. Ask each one for these five numbers, on your parcel weight, and get them in writing:
Then work out the cost per delivered order, not per booking, because refused parcels still cost you. Here is an example with made-up numbers. These are assumptions to show the method. They are not real TCS or Leopards rates.
| Per 100 orders (assumed) | Courier A | Courier B |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery plus COD charge per parcel | PKR 350 | PKR 400 |
| Share of parcels refused | 16% | 8% |
| Return charge per refused parcel | PKR 250 | PKR 200 |
| Outbound charges (100 parcels) | PKR 35,000 | PKR 40,000 |
| Return charges | PKR 4,000 (16 parcels) | PKR 1,600 (8 parcels) |
| Total courier cost | PKR 39,000 | PKR 41,600 |
| Parcels delivered | 84 | 92 |
| Cost per delivered order | about PKR 464 | about PKR 452 |
Courier A has the lower rate on the rate card, but in this example it costs more per delivered order because more parcels come back. Your refusal rate is not fixed by the courier alone. It depends on your product, your order confirmation habits and the courier's delivery attempts. Still, the lesson holds: compare the total, not the rate. The full cost picture for a store, including the platform and domain, is in our PKR cost breakdown.
Refused Parcels and Returns
A refused parcel costs you the outbound charge, usually a return charge, and the time to restock. Both couriers carry the COD risk in the sense that they collect cash, but neither can stop a customer from refusing at the door. What a courier can influence is how many delivery attempts it makes, how it contacts the customer, and how quickly returned parcels get back to you.
Ask each courier how many delivery attempts it makes, whether it phones the customer before attempting, and how long returns take. Then cut the problem at the source by confirming each order by WhatsApp or phone before you book the shipment. Our guide on how cash on delivery works and how to cut fake orders has a checklist for that.
Settlement: How Fast You Get Your Cash
With cash on delivery your working capital is tied up in parcels and in cash the courier has collected but not yet paid you. A courier that settles in fewer days lets you restock sooner, which matters most when you are small. Settlement terms are part of your agreement with the courier and can differ by account, so ask both for the schedule in writing, including how payment is made and whether any charges are deducted before you are paid.
Which One Should You Choose?
Use this as a starting point, not a verdict.
| Your situation | Lean towards | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Most orders go to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other big cities | Whichever quotes the lower cost per delivered order | Both can cover large cities, so price and refusal rate decide |
| A large share of orders goes to smaller towns | The courier that confirms COD delivery to those towns in writing | Coverage in the towns matters more than a small rate gap |
| You want next-day delivery between major cities | TCS is worth quoting first | It is known for next-day delivery and a dense city network |
| You want the widest reach by number of cities | Leopards is worth quoting first | It describes delivery to over 1,000 cities and towns |
| You are unsure | Start with one, then switch | Yuplify lets you keep both set up and change the active one at any time |
The honest advice is to get a quote from both and book a small number of real parcels with each before you commit to either. Your own delivery times and refusal rates will tell you more than any comparison page.
Who Should Not Use Either Courier Through Yuplify
TCS and Leopards are not the right answer for every store.
Setting Up Your Courier on Yuplify
1. Make sure your store is on the Pro plan. Starter is free and Pro is PKR 2,500 (US$8) a month.
2. Ask your chosen courier for API access. For TCS, that means API credentials and a cost centre code. For Leopards, it means API credentials and confirming your pickup address with your branch.
3. Open Couriers in your dashboard, choose the courier and enter the credentials, your pickup details and a default parcel weight.
4. Test in test mode, then switch to live and book your first real shipment from an order.
5. Keep cash on delivery on at checkout, since it is available on every plan. See the cash on delivery page.
If you do not have a store yet, start with the free plan on our ecommerce website builder and add courier booking when you reach Pro.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is cheaper, TCS or Leopards? It depends on your account, your parcel weight and your cities. Both set rates per account, so we do not publish a price. Ask both for a written quote and compare the cost per delivered order.
Can I use TCS and Leopards together on Yuplify? You can set up both, but only one is active for bookings at a time. You can switch between them from the Couriers page.
Does Yuplify charge extra for courier bookings? No. Courier booking is part of the Pro plan with no per-shipment fee from Yuplify. You pay the courier directly at your own rates.
Does the courier collect cash on delivery? Yes. Both TCS and Leopards collect the cash from your customer and pay it into your bank on the schedule you agree with them. Yuplify never handles the cash.
Do I need a business account with the courier? Yes. Bookings are made on your own account, and the courier must enable API access for it.
Kya main free plan par courier book kar sakta hoon? Courier booking Pro plan mein hai. Free plan par aap COD orders le sakte hain aur parcel kisi bhi courier ko khud de sakte hain.
Konsa courier behtar hai? Koi ek sab ke liye behtar nahi. Dono se likhit rate lein, apne shehron ke liye coverage poochein, aur kuch parcel dono se bhej kar dekhein.
Final Thoughts
The best courier for your store is the one with the lowest cost per delivered order for the cities your customers live in, with a settlement schedule you can plan around. TCS and Leopards are both solid options for COD in Pakistan, and Yuplify lets you book either from the order page without a fee from us. Get written quotes, test with real parcels, and switch if the numbers say so. For the wider picture of running a COD store, read our guide to how cash on delivery works and the PKR cost breakdown.
